Preview a $3,000 decision on your own car
A professional full wrap costs $2,500–5,000 installed, and you'll live with the color for years. Yet most wrap simulators show the color on a generic 3D model of roughly your car's shape — or take your real photo and quietly redraw the car in the process, especially on anything other than a perfect side profile. This tool works on your photo at whatever angle you shot it, and it changes only the painted bodywork: wheels, glass, trim, lights, plate and background stay untouched. If the render looks wrong for your photo, you'll see that too — better to know before you book an installer than after the film is on.
How to preview a wrap color
- Upload a clear photo of your car — daylight, whole car in frame. Any angle works; a three-quarter shot shows how the color plays across the most surfaces.
- Pick a swatch or type a color — the swatches cover popular film colors, or describe anything ('brushed titanium', 'sage green'). Choose the finish: gloss, matte, satin, metallic or chrome.
- Render, download, repeat — try three or four candidates and compare them side by side. Then talk to your installer about the brand films they offer (3M, Avery and others carry close equivalents of most of these colors).
Run a wrap shop? This works as a quoting aid too — render the customer's own car during the conversation. For embedding it on your site or a white-label version, contact us.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I see what my car looks like wrapped before paying?
- Yes — that's exactly what this does. Upload a photo of your car, pick or type a wrap color and finish, and the AI renders your actual car in that color in about 10 seconds. A full wrap typically runs $2,500–5,000 installed, so ten seconds of previewing on your real car is worth doing before you commit.
- Is it cheaper to paint or wrap a car?
- For a comparable quality of result, wrapping is usually cheaper: a professional full wrap runs roughly $2,500–5,000, while a quality respray in a new color often costs more once prep and blending are done right — cheap paint jobs exist but tend to show it. Wraps are also removable and protect the factory paint underneath, which matters for lease returns and resale. Paint still wins for permanence and for cars that will be kept forever.
- Does the render change anything besides the color?
- No. Only the painted bodywork changes — wheels, glass, trim, lights, plate, background and the car's shape stay exactly as photographed. That restraint is deliberate: a preview you can't trust is worse than no preview.
- What colors can I try?
- Any color you can describe. The swatches cover popular wrap-culture picks — satin black, nardo grey, midnight purple, british racing green, miami blue and more — but the text field accepts anything: 'brushed titanium', 'lavender grey', 'olive drab'. Pick a finish (gloss, matte, satin, metallic or chrome) to match the film style you have in mind.
- Is this free?
- Yes — free, no signup, within a fair daily limit per visitor. Renders carry a small corner mark. Your photos are processed in memory and never stored.
- Does a wrap damage paint?
- On healthy factory paint, no — quality film applied and removed properly actually protects the paint underneath. The honest caveat: on resprayed, chipped or peeling paint, removal can lift weak spots, and film left baking for many years past its rated life gets harder to remove cleanly. A good installer will inspect your paint before quoting.
- Can wrap shops use this?
- Yes — shops use it to show customers a color on their own car during a quote instead of pointing at a swatch book or a generic 3D model. If you run a shop and want this on your own site or under your own branding, get in touch through our contact page.
