Why check damage from photos with AI?

You can spot a dent yourself — the point isn't that AI sees more than you. The point is that it's fast on many photos, consistent, and neutral: the same photo always gets the same assessment. Sellers use it to see their car the way buyers will before writing the listing. Buyers use it as a second pair of eyes on listing photos before driving an hour to a disappointment. Dealers run it across a whole trade-in's photo set in seconds.

How it works

  1. Upload one clear photo — daylight, whole panel or whole car in frame (up to 25 MB).
  2. The AI examines it — trained to report only what is visible: no invented damage, no hidden damage.
  3. Read the honest result — condition grade, plain-language summary and a list of visible issues by panel and severity.

Frequently asked questions

Is the AI car damage checker free?
Yes — free with no signup, within a fair daily limit per visitor. Analysis runs on our servers and your photo is processed in memory, never stored.
What kind of damage can it detect?
Anything visible in the photo: scratches, dents, rust, cracked lights or glass, paint damage, missing or damaged trim, and heavily worn parts. It reports the panel, the type of damage and how severe it looks.
Can it find hidden damage or mechanical faults?
No. It sees exactly what a careful human sees in the same photo — nothing behind panels, no engine faults, no accident history. For mechanical diagnostics you need an OBD2 scanner; for history you need a paid report (Carfax, AutoCheck, carVertical); for repainted panels a paint-thickness gauge.
Is this a vehicle inspection?
No — it's an assist. One photo can't show all sides of a car, and no AI assessment replaces seeing the vehicle in person or a professional inspection before buying.
Will it exaggerate or hide damage?
Neither, by design. The AI is instructed to report only what is visible — it never invents damage that isn't there and never omits damage that is. Honesty is the whole point of this tool.
Is my photo stored?
No. The photo is analyzed in memory and discarded — it isn't saved, shared, or used to train anything.
Is this the same as AI car damage detection software or a vehicle inspection app?
Same technology, different packaging. Enterprise damage-detection platforms (Inspektlabs, Ravin, Tchek, UVeye) sell to insurers and fleets behind demo calls and contracts. This is the free, browser-based version for everyone else: upload up to 4 photos, get the assessment now — no app install, no sales call.
