Tint is one of the cheapest mods with the biggest visual change — and one of the easiest to get wrong, because sample cards held against a shop window tell you nothing about how 20% reads on your paint color in your light. Most tint shop "simulators" show a generic sedan in a showroom. This one darkens the glass in your own photo and leaves everything else alone — including the windshield, because that's the law almost everywhere. Window tint questions, answered honestly
- How do I know what tint percentage to get?
- The number is VLT — visible light transmission — so lower means darker: 50% is a subtle smoke, 35% is the popular daily-driver choice, 20% is dark, and 5% is limo. The honest answer is that the same percentage looks different on every car and paint color, which is exactly why previewing on a photo of your own car beats a generic chart.
- Is this my actual car in the preview?
- Yes — you upload a photo and the AI darkens only the side and rear glass in it. Bodywork, wheels, trim, lights, plate, background and the photo's angle stay as shot. Most shop simulators show a generic sedan; this shows yours.
- Why doesn't the windshield get tinted in the preview?
- Because tinting the windshield below the AS-1 line is illegal in virtually every jurisdiction, so the preview shows a legal outcome by default. Front side windows also have legal minimums that vary by state and country — check your local law before choosing a shade; a good tint shop will know the local rules cold.
- What does window tinting cost?
- Typical full-car tint with quality film runs about $150–400 for dyed film and $300–800 for ceramic, varying by car size, film brand and region. Ceramic costs more because it rejects heat much better at the same darkness. A ten-second preview is worth doing before committing to a shade you'll live with for years.
- Is this free?
- Yes — free, no signup, within a fair daily limit per visitor. Renders carry a small corner mark. Your photos are processed in memory and never stored.
